I’ve had a love for computers nearly all of my life. My family always had computers around, even in the early days of Commodores and IBM XT/ATs, and I was encouraged to learn what I could about both their hardware and software. I started programming in earnest in high school.
In addition to learning about and working in the software field, I have held several positions in related technical fields, including several years as a senior network technician and systems administrator. I’ve also had the opportunity to offer several semester’s worth of courses as an adjunct lecturer at my then-local state university.
I have a BS in Computer Science, and I’ve completed the coursework (though not the thesis) for an MS in Natural Sciences.
I’m married to a wonderful woman, and I have three fantastic daughters.
I’m not really sure what a “geek badge” is, so it’s difficult to say. In general, though, I’d say I’m pretty geeky.
I’m not much on bumper stickers; either “Inspired by the mystery”, or a Darwin fish.
I’d spend time with my family.
I miss thinking that I’d someday be able to see it all, to do it all, to learn it all.
I love creating things. I wish it were easier to see the rough corners.

Be humble, for you are made of earth. Be noble, for you are made of stars.
To be happy, and to live a good life with my family.
